About ServcoServco Pacific Inc. (“Servco”) is one Hawaii’s 20 largest corporations with over 88 years of history in the islands. We are building a reputation as an employer that is committed to employee and customer satisfaction, and to our community. Servco provides Hawaii’s businesses and consumers with products ranging from automobiles to insurance; appliances to garage doors. Our product lines include well-known brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, Scion, Suzuki, Chevrolet, GE, Bosch, Raynor, First Insurance and Bridgestone, to name just a few. But as varied as we are, all our businesses share one common goal: to be #1 in customer service in Hawaii. |

Servco's HeritageServco Pacific traces its roots to 1919, when a two-car garage opened in Haleiwa on Oahu's North Shore. The three basic principles that its owner, Peter Fukunaga, developed to build his business way back then still form the foundation for our business today:

Satisfy Customers Customer satisfaction has been Servco’s focus from the start. After moving his operation to Wahiawa in the 1920s, Mr. Fukunaga held a contest with a cash prize of $25 to name his growing company. An Army Air Corps sergeant suggested 'Service Motor Company' because service was the heart of the company policy. In depression-era Hawaii, it was difficult for families to pay cash to purchase automobiles, as well as the home appliances that our company began to distribute. Mr. Fukunaga responded to this customer need by creating an affiliate to help customers finance their purchases. Today, our heritage is demonstrated by the quality brands and products that we represent and our commitment to support these products with excellent customer service. We still practice what Mr. Fukunaga preached: provide the best products and services available in order to meet customer needs. |

Have Dedicated EmployeesPeter Fukunaga believed in hiring dedicated employees and treating them fairly. Working alongside his employees in all phases of automotive repair, Mr. Fukunaga gained the reputation of a firm but fair employer. His operations quickly grew to six mechanics and a blacksmith. When the garage merged with two others, Mr. Fukunaga was named manager and treasurer of the new enterprise. In 1951, Mr. Fukunaga demonstrated his commitment to his employees with the creation of the first locally formed employee profit-sharing plan. In the same spirit, Servco more recently established the Servco Foundation, which provides scholarships to the spouses and children of Servco employees to help in their pursuit of higher education. |

A Personal Commitment to Hard Work Peter Fukunaga made a personal commitment to work hard long before he opened his Haleiwa garage. He came to Hawaii with little English, but got himself through Iolani School and the College of Hawaii. He learned automotive repair as a mechanical helper at the Royal Hawaiian Sales Company and through a correspondence course he completed while in the hospital with a broken leg. When his two-car garage began operations, Mr. Fukunaga was still hobbling on crutches. Peter Fukunaga's commitment to hard work extended beyond Servco. In 1957, the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii named him 'Father of the Year.' Along with attaining American citizenship, Mr. Fukunaga considered this the honor that most delighted him. Team Servco follows in Peter Fukunaga's footsteps. On the job, our hard work is rewarded with the number of satisfied customers. In the community, Team Servco members serve on the boards of non-profit organizations, schools, parent/teacher associations and cultural groups. Others of are coaches, participate fund-raisers and volunteers of all kinds. Our heritage is continually demonstrated by the quality brands and products that we represent and our commitment to support these products with excellent customer service. We still practice what Mr. Fukunaga preached: to provide the best products and services available in order to meet customer needs. |

| Tomorrow's Servco The future of Servco is continually being formed. Certainly, Peter Fukunaga could scarcely have imagined the legacy of the company he founded. He could not have foreseen the highs and lows, the businesses acquired and divested, or the fantastic growth of a company with Hawaiian roots across the Pacific. What Mr. Fukunaga could foresee—a vision handed down to Team Servco—was the need for a strong business foundation: those three core business principles that have enabled Servco to survive and thrive over the years. Our vision is to become the best customer service company in Hawaii. We believe Mr. Fukunaga's principles are the foundation for reaching that goal. |
