September 3, 2021

HONOLULU – Today, Subaru Hawai`i, in partnership with KHON2, announced the winner of its  “Shot for a Subaru” giveaway to incentivize the community to get vaccinated. Logan Okita, a teacher at Nimitz Elementary, was presented with a brand-new 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport for a two-year use.

“Subaru Hawai`i’s mission is to be more than a car company, and that’s reflected in its Love Promises. One of those promises is Subaru Loves to Care. We know some folks needed a little nudge to get vaccinated and do their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the strain on our healthcare system,” said Rick Ching of Subaru Hawai`i.  “We are pleased to award this vehicle to a deserving winner like Logan.”

Subaru Hawai`i received over 10,000 entries for the giveaway.

“I’m so grateful to be the recipient of the ‘Shot for a Subaru’ giveaway and this Subaru Crosstrek Sport,” said Logan Okita. “As an educator and member of the community, I’m proud to share the importance of getting vaccinated to keep Hawai`i safe.”

To enter the “Shot for a Subaru” giveaway, participants needed to be a resident of Hawai`i, 18 years or older, and have at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot. Entries were open from August 1, 2021, through August 31, 2021.
