HONOLULU – Servco announced the three scholarship recipients of its newly rebranded Servco Technical Education Program (STEP) at Leeward Community College and Honolulu Community College.
This year’s STEP scholarship recipients are:
- Hunter Imoto, Leeward Community College
- Kyle Kila, Honolulu Community College
- Reef Robinson, Honolulu Community College
All winners will receive scholarship money to pay for tuition and books and will be employed part-time at Servco as a Technician Apprentice. Upon completion of their Associate’s Degree in Auto Technology and successful placement in an Auto Technician position at Servco, recipients will also receive money for tools.
To qualify for the scholarship, students needed to have completed at least one semester in Auto Technology Associates Degree program and have at least one more semester to complete, along with a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Qualified students completed a Toyota Technician Assessment Examination.
The scholarship program was officially renamed from the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) to the Servco Technical Education Program (STEP). The strategic change reflects Servco’s commitment to supporting automotive education across its three brands: Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru. The expanded program also allows Servco to reach more students and provide more opportunities to get into the Automotive industry.
