HONOLULU — Toyota Hawaiʻi has awarded a brand-new 2026 Toyota Corolla to Frederick Tamayo Jr., the winner of the brand’s inaugural Cap & Corolla Giveaway. Frederick, a 2026 graduate from Ewa Beach, Hawaiʻi, was randomly selected from over 4,100 eligible entries submitted through the campaign, which ran from June 1–30, 2026.
“This is the first car giveaway from Toyota Hawaiʻi for first-time owners, and we’re thrilled that it supports the next generation of local drivers,” said Lance Ichimura, senior vice president of Toyota Hawaiʻi. “Buying your first car and navigating life after graduation can be intimidating. We hope that by providing this vehicle to a deserving local graduate, Toyota Hawaiʻi is making a meaningful difference in their journey ahead.”
The vehicle was presented to Frederick at Servco Toyota Honolulu on July 10th, marking the culmination of a campaign designed to celebrate local students and recent graduates while helping first-time car buyers in Hawaiʻi take a more confident step toward vehicle ownership.
“I’m so grateful and thankful to Toyota Hawaiʻi for this opportunity,” said Frederick, winner of the Cap & Corolla Giveaway. “As a recent graduate, I have a lot of new responsibilities and having a reliable, brand-new car provides me with a lot of flexibility and peace of mind.”
The Cap & Corolla Giveaway drew entries from across the state and served as the launch of Toyota Hawaii’s First-Time Buyer Program, an initiative aimed at making the first car-buying experience more achievable.
Following the conclusion of the giveaway, Toyota Hawaiʻi is continuing to support first-time buyers through its First-Time Buyer Program, offering qualified buyers down payment support and financing opportunities to help them approach their first vehicle purchase with greater confidence.
“We want every first-time buyer in Hawaiʻi to feel supported in their car buying journey,” said Judy Relosimon Ng, Toyota Hawaiʻi marketing director. “The First-Time Buyer Program is our way of extending that same energy beyond the campaign in a way that gives young drivers a trusted place to start and a team that is ready to help them every step of the way.”
