Every year, Automotive News selects 40 people who are making big impacts at new-car dealerships in the U.S.
We’re excited to congratulate Mike Hamada, General Sales Manager at Servco Leeward, who was named a member of this year’s 40 Under 40 cohort!
Read Mike’s Automotive News profile below:
Michael Hamada has always loved cars, so as he was finishing college, he decided to work where they’re sold: He landed a part-time cashier position at Servco Pacific Inc.’s Lexus Honolulu dealership.
When he graduated, the store’s general manager offered Hamada a full-time job in the parts department, and soon he was delivering wholesale parts to the group’s body shops.
After less than a year, he moved into sales, then worked in finance and insurance and as a sales manager. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hamada moved to Servco’s corporate team to support the company’s Auto Retail Operations.
While there, Hamada helped modernize and digitize the group’s F&I operations, using laser-print forms and gathering electronic signatures on tablets.
He also revamped the company’s lending, working with local lenders to offer credit to more buyers. Additionally, he oversaw a marketing campaign to draw more customers, especially those who felt their credit scores were too low to purchase a vehicle.
But Hamada missed being close to the sales floor and service bay. So, in August 2026, he returned. Today he is general sales manager at Servco Leeward in Waipahu, Hawaii.
“I enjoyed my time on the corporate team, and I didn’t realize how much I loved sales, cars and everything,” he said, adding, “I love the excitement.”
Please join us in congratulating Mike on this well-deserved recognition!
