Servco Australia Acquires Queensland Automotive Business, Motorama Group

January 29, 2024

QUEENSLAND, Australia – Servco Australia will acquire Queensland automotive business, Motorama, effective January 31, 2024. The Motorama Group’s 18 locations will continue to operate under the Motorama name and will join Servco Australia’s 23 dealerships across the country.

The Motorama Group has sold and serviced vehicles in Southeast Queensland for over 63 years. It represents automotive brands, including Toyota, Ford, Mitsubishi, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, MG, Jeep and Chery. Motorama also pioneered large-scale used car retailing in Australia and sells pre-owned vehicles through its store, Big Box Cars.

“We’re thrilled to add the Motorama Group to our family of companies,” said Nick Pappas, managing director of Servco Australia. “Our histories, values and goals are well-aligned, and we look forward to driving business forward with the same record of excellence that customers have come to know.”

Motorama generates revenues exceeding $800 million per year and employs over 700 staff across Brisbane; no jobs will be affected by the acquisition. The Madill Automotive Group on the Sunshine Coast was not part of the transaction.

“We have always been proud of the Motorama Business, from a small Holden car dealership in Beenleigh with 5 employees to what has become one of Queensland’s largest automotive groups,” said Mark Woelders, managing director and owner of Motorama. “The decision to sell was right for the family and we feel confident that the company is in great hands with Servco Australia. Servco has a similar ethos to business, which is to look after its employees and customers, key ingredients of our success.”
