First Bring Your Dog to Work Day

August 25, 2017

Fridays are usually a little “ruff” for everyone waiting for the weekend, but Servco made a special exception with the first ever Bring Your Dog to Work Day. Tails were wagging as companions were settled at their desks, and gathered in Servco’s Administrative Offices to meet all the new emPUPees. A morning walk around the block kicked off the pilot event with over 20 participants and their dogs, big and small, parading through Mapunapuna. Some cars passing by may have given confused stares, but this did not stop Team Servco from having a great time.

After returning from the walk, participants took “insta-worthy” pics with their furry friends in a “Pawstagram” photo booth frame, and had a blast using the Servco Bring Your Dog to Work Day geo-filter to complement their Snapchat posts. Each owner and their dog received a personalized gift, which included a Subaru Hawaii dog bowl, leash, waste disposal bag dispenser, reflective keychain, and custom Servco dog bone-shaped cookie (for human consumption). Those who were unable to bring their dogs to work that day got to cool down with a complimentary Slush Puppies treat, offered by the Frozen Fun Mobile to all Mapunapuna guests and employees.

“I’ve had a dog for quite some time and a lot of people I work with have dogs, so this is just something that we’ve always thought about doing,” said Kim Randall, vice president of sales and Marketing. “Finally, we pulled it off this year, and hopefully this pilot event will make everyone’s day a little brighter. Our goal is to have more divisions and employees participate in future Servco Bring Your Dog to Work Days.”

Mahalo to everyone who participated in the pilot event, and a big shout out to Team Go Dog Go: Casey Ching, Estelle Iwamura, Haylee Faustin, Joy Ahu, Lori Ky, Patti Kawano, Shawna Benson, and Kaelyn Okuhata, who helped make this initial year PAWssible!
